CANON POINT: Flexible. I am a HSR leak freak, so just assume I'm up-to-date on story lmao.
WRITING STYLE: Brackets by default, but I really love writing prose, so lmk if you do too! We can switch!
TAGGING: I am most consistent on weekdays and in evenings. I try to reply within 1 - 4 days (I am slower on weekends), and will do my best to communicate if something comes up that will delay tags.
I'm voice testing and shaky with canon RP in general, so patience is greatly appreciated. Even if I am excited about our thread, I may take some time to get over myself and just write a tag lmao. 100% down to backtag PSLs indefinitely. For memes/chemistry testing/one-off stuff, no hard feelings if enthusiasm has dwindled and we want to drop a thread. I personally prefer to pursue what is exciting for both writers, and will happily press pause on something that's lost its steam (tags consistently taking >=1.5 weeks) to start something new.
LOOKING FOR:
Long-term PSLs with strong plot structure or meme threading with continuity. If we're PSLing, I'd like to have consistent OOC communication (via DM, plurk, or discord). Not necessary for meme shenanigans.
Open to canon, cross-canon, and OCs of all types (inc. canon ocs and malleable protags). Love AUs of characters isekai'd into the HSR setting. For PSLs, I am very on board with playing in AUs involving fan theories (Sampo is Aha, Lord Ravager Ratio, IPC is Voracity, as random examples) and canon divergences (Herta as Rubert III, etc.) with discussion!
SHIPPING:
- I do not typically post to shippy memes, but I assume that any organized PSL is going to eventually include a shippy element as a goal, whether that's romance or something more toxic. No need to pretend like we aren't both gunning to mash barbies. I will take you at face value if you tell me you aren't interested in shipping, though.
- No pairing preferences. Writing chemistry and matched enthusiasm are more important to me than specific character match ups. My only hard no's are Jade (LOVE her for gen and fucked up found family, though), Sparkle, and characters 20 and younger, including young-coded immortals. Also, personal preference, I'm not interested in heavily "tsundere" romantic match ups for Aventurine; grumpy and caustic is fine within reason, though.
- Aventurine is demisexual, has compartmentalized his own romantic and physical desire into nonexistence, and treats sex like a tool he can use to meet his work KPIs. While he will flirt and even come on to people if it serves a specific goal, he is unlikely to be the initiator if there are earnest feelings involved, and may even self-sabotage to avoid them. His flirting IC is not an OOC desire to ship, basically.
- I always write Aventurine as cismale but am happy to write with trans and nb OCs and head canons for other characters!
- Prefer f2b; we can talk more if a PSL gets that far. I write Aventurine as ICly preferring to top or at least feel a sense of control in sexual encounters. He is flexible if there's an obvious, significant benefit or in the rare instance where he feels safe, emotionally attached, and it's his partner's preference. He's also very giving in bed and may be reluctant to take his own pleasure/be vulnerable.
IC PERMISSIONS:
Physical Contact/Affection: Dislikes uninvited touch, but has mastered the ability to show no outward negative response. If he sees a benefit, he may pretend to enjoy or reciprocate affection, but will generally not initiate physical contact, himself. Would be very receptive to physical affection with a close friend or romantic partner under the right circumstances, though.
Psychic Contact/Mind Reading/Etc.: Susceptible to it, but will attempt to resist, and will react extremely negatively if he notices it happening. Aventurine is typically clear-headed and constantly assessing everything around him, but still suffers the lingering effects of exposure to Nihility, exacerbating already dark, self-destructive and self-hating thoughts. His head is not a fun place to be.
Violence: Aventurine tries to avoid violence, but he is both physically scrappy (past as a pit fighter) and magically powerful (immensely so, if in possession of his Cornerstone). He is not a pacifist -- his Stoneheart glamour seems to specifically turn him into Achillean Ultraman for front line fighting purposes lmao -- and will defend himself and use violence if he must.
SOME NOTES ABOUT OFFENSIVE/TRIGGERING SUBJECT MATTER:
- Aventurine's backstory deals with a number of heavy topics, including genocide, slavery, murder, forced tattoos/branding. These things need to be handled with due care and gravity. Outside of allusions to being a character with a dark past who is dealing with the fallout of intense trauma, I will not bring these subjects up unless they serve specific narrative purpose and either we have discussed it OOC or there has been proper build up in the narrative. As this backstory is not common knowledge for canon-mates, I request that you ask OOC before bringing it up IC.
- Aventurine, himself, grapples with extreme self-loathing, impostor syndrome, and self-harming tendencies. He has mind control in his recent history (as a victim of it). Suicidal ideation may come up. Again, I will try to handle this with care.
- HSR's canon establishes scifantasy racism against the Avgin, Aventurine's clan. While the loss of his clan is at the core of his character and powers the obsession that drives him, I would rather we avoid the sort of IC scifantasy racism we saw with Sparkle in game while writing. Thank you!
- I do not write Aventurine as having experienced sexual assault/abuse. I do not think the original script alludes to anything other than a past as a pit fighter/gladiator that people would bet on because of his appearance.
- In general, I want to treat heavy topics with the gravity they deserve, and if you would still like to opt out of interacting with Aventurine, I fully understand!
